The most beautiful views along the French Riviera

Surrounded by hills and craggy cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean, the French Riviera offers a myriad of breathtaking panoramic views. Professionals at Michaël Zingraf Christie’s International Real Estate have listed the region’s most beautiful panoramic views.

Angels’ Bay from up at the Château in Nice

Anyone who loves the Mediterranean coastline will have stopped here at least once to gaze out upon the deep blue waters below. Overlooking the Promenade des Anglais, the high-perched Château offers an incredible view over Angels’ Bay and a large part of Nice. This amazing post card-like setting is just a few minutes’ walk away from the centre (a lift going up to the park is also available). On the other side of the park, you can also look out over Nice’s marina and the Mont-Boron hills.

The bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer from the Middle Cliff Road

Villefranche-sur-Mer is a flagship destination along the French Riviera. Prestigious boats are docked in its splendid bay during the summer months. To see the entire harbour and catch a glimpse of the old town’s colourful houses, drive up the middle cliff road (or cycle up if you are more athletic). This is no doubt the most beautiful panoramic view of the entire bay.

The sea, Italy, Corsica and the Mercantour peaks from the High Cliff Road

The High Cliff Road, snaking its way from Nice to Monaco, offers a stunning panoramic view of the sea and surrounding land. From up there, you can gaze out upon Monaco, Italy, the Mercantour peaks and even Corsica if the weather is clear! There are two must-see views: the first is at the Turbie, where a natural belvedere (nicknamed the Dog’s Head) is set 550 meters high, stepping out over the void below, just above Monaco. The second is at the top of the Èze mountain pass, at the Revère Fort.

The bay of Hyères and its salt marshes, from up at the Château

Located right at the top of the Castéou hill, Hyères’ Château offers a stunning 360° panoramic view. From up there, you can admire the amazing harbour down below, as well as the region’s famous salt marshes, and the islands of Porquerolles and Port-Cros. A small craggy path will take you there from the old town square.

Other must-see panoramic views along the French Riviera

All along the coast, the region offers fabulous panoramic views over the sea and surrounding environment. Here are a few panoramic views not to miss out on when travelling along the French Riviera:
