Are you a contemporary art lover? Go and discover the most beautiful museums dedicated to contemporary creation! The selected establishments are generally distinguished as much by the originality of their architecture as by the richness of their collections.

The Guggenheim Museum - Bilbao

Opened to the public in 1997, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Bilbao is a worldwide success thanks to its impressive architecture. Designed by Frank Gehry with a deconstructivist approach, this colossal building is the result of an atypical assembly of stone, glass and titanium. The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao attracts a million visitors a year, sometimes more curious about the building itself than about the works it houses (although they are famous, such as Louise Bourgeois's Spider, Jeff Koons's Puppy and Richard Serra's gigantic sculptures).

The MoMa - New York

Opened in 1929, the Museum of Modern Art in New York is one of the world's most influential museums of modern and contemporary art (it is one of the most visited institutions in the United States). This time, it is more its incredibly diverse collection that makes it a must-see museum. Painting, sculpture, design, film, photography... all art forms are represented.

The Georges Pompidou National Centre for Art and Culture (CNAC) - Paris

Open to the public since 1977, the CNAC was designed by the famous architects Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers and Gianfranco Franchini. Its unique architecture makes it one of the most original and most visited museums in the world (more than 5 million visitors per year). Polycultural, the establishment brings together more than 10,000 works of art and offers a varied programme all year round

The Louis Vuitton Foundation - Paris

The architecture of the Fondation Louis Vuitton is a jewel of futuristic architecture. Its original ship-like design is worth a visit. With its 11 galleries spread over three floors, the foundation also offers an impressive collection of artworks. The museum is also known for its unique light show and the configuration of its modular auditorium, which can accommodate more than 1000 people.

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Niteroi - Brazil

The Niteroi Museum of Contemporary Art welcomes visitors across the street from Rio de Janeiro, on the seafront. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer and Bruno Conrini, the building is 16 metres high and forms an extraordinary three-level dome, similar to a UFO. The museum owes its success more to its futuristic structure than to the works themselves (it only hosts exhibitions).

The Vitra Design Museum - Germany

Located in Germany, in the heart of the Rhine Valley, the Vitra Design Museum was built by Franck Gehry (in part). Its deconstructivist architecture makes it one of the most remarkable cultural buildings in the world. In terms of programming, the museum is dedicated to the study and presentation of contemporary developments in design. Its unique collection of furniture, lighting and interior design objects attracts all lovers of contemporary art practices every year.
