Once a small fishing town, Dubai is now one of the world's most renowned tourist destinations. Situated on the seafront and at the gateway to the desert, it offers visitors a myriad of often unusual activities, as well as incredible monuments, buildings, hotels and culinary establishments.

What are the must-see places in Dubai?

Dubai is home to a multitude of spectacular locations and architectural creations. Some of these iconic sites are internationally renowned for their exceptional features.

Burj Khalifa

At 823 metres high, the Burj Khalifa is currently the tallest human structure ever built. To enjoy the incredible view from the building, head to the 124th and 125th floors of the skyscraper.

Dubai's fountains

Located at the foot of the Burj Khalifa and in the centre of a 12-hectare artificial lake, the Dubai Fountains offer a magical spectacle to visitors. Several times a day, the fountains' jets are projected 150 metres high. Traditional and contemporary music and wonderful light shows accompany the show.

BURJ AL-ARAB

The Burj Al-Arab is the world's most luxurious hotel and the highest hotel in the world. Built in the shape of a ship's sail, this superb establishment offers a breathtaking view of the natural beauty of the Persian Gulf.

THE DUBAI MALL AND ITS SUSPENDED AQUARIUM

The Dubai Mall is the place to be for all shopping enthusiasts. It is the largest shopping mall in the world. It currently has more than 1,000 shops and around 100 cafes and restaurants. Inside the Mall, you can also discover the world's largest suspended aquarium, home to 33,000 species of aquatic animals.

PALM JUMEIRAH

The Palm Jumeirah district is a beautiful artificial archipelago in the shape of a palm tree. On site, the 16 sectors (each representing a palm of the palm tree) allow you to relax on heavenly beaches and dine in prestigious, high-end restaurants.

OLD DUBAI

The oldest part of Dubai, which includes the renowned districts of Deira and Bur Dubai, takes you back to the city's past with a visit to many historical and cultural sites. The Creek, one of the most picturesque historical areas of the city, offers a delightful stroll along the waterfront, while the Deira Souk (including an impressive gold souk) offers fabulous local produce.
