BEACHER, THE REFERENCE DAY BOAT

Beacher: The emblematic shipyard of the Arcachon Basin in the era of renewal

For over 25 years, Beacher has established itself as a key player in the Arcachon Basin in the production of customized DAY BOATs. With over 230 units manufactured, this local company has successfully combined artisanal know-how and ecological commitment, while remaining true to the regional economy. In 2024, Beacher is embarking on a new phase of development, integrating major changes in production, commerce, and services. Let’s take a look at this iconic brand and its impact on the nautical industry.

A local anchor and a strong commitment to the Arcachon Basin economy

Since its acquisition in 2018 by three partners, including Éric Delas, Beacher has solidified its regional presence. An active member of the Union of Nautical Professionals of the Arcachon Basin (UPNBA) and a partner of the "Bassin d’Arcachon Brand", the company promotes local expertise and contributes to the economic dynamism of the area.

Its commitment to local production is reinforced by signing the "Arcachon Origine Chantier" charter, a label guaranteeing total transparency regarding the manufacturing process and the origin of materials. This initiative is particularly relevant in an industry often marked by relocation. At the same time, Beacher actively participates in the Eco-Responsible Boating Association (APER), further emphasizing its dedication to sustainability and the preservation of the marine environment.

A rethought production to meet demand

In response to growing demand, Beacher launched a dual assembly line at the beginning of 2023 to maintain efficient local production. However, after ten years of activity, one of its partners, Nautiplast, ceased operations in July 2024. From now on, all assembly and composite production operations are entrusted to the Couach shipyard, thus enhancing Beacher’s capacity to fulfill orders within optimized timelines.

The company maintains short supply chain sourcing, with over 70% of its suppliers and subcontractors based in the Arcachon Basin. This approach not only supports the local economy but also ensures impeccable manufacturing quality. Two Breton companies supply specific materials, while recognized Italian partners, known for their globally appreciated expertise, complete this supply chain.

A customized approach focused on the customer

Rather than imposing stocks on its distributors, Beacher has opted for a different method. Each boat is designed solely on demand, thus providing a unique product for each buyer. Since August 1, 2024, this strategy has been further strengthened, allowing for a direct and privileged connection with customers.

In a context of rising material costs post-COVID, this sales model allows Beacher to better understand and meet its customers' expectations while optimizing production management. This strategic choice guarantees optimal quality and increased flexibility, in line with the brand’s artisanal DNA.

Customized services for a complete experience

In addition to production and sales, Beacher offers a range of premium services allowing owners of its boats to benefit from personalized maintenance. These services include a variety of offerings such as decommissioning, cleaning, engine revisions, indoor winter storage, and launching.

Thanks to local partnerships, these services are accessible on both shores of the Arcachon Basin, ensuring comprehensive and quality support. This approach allows Beacher to retain its clientele by providing long-term follow-up, thereby optimizing the durability and performance of their units.

Beacher ventures far beyond the Arcachon Basin

While Beacher remains firmly rooted in the Arcachon Basin, its success is no longer limited to this area. Now, its models, particularly the famous DAY BOAT Beacher V10.2, are sailing well beyond regional borders. They can be found in renowned ports such as Pornic in Brittany, Hyères, Marseille, Cap d’Agde on the Mediterranean coast, Empuri Brava in Spain, and even in Geneva on Lake Geneva, Switzerland.

Customer feedback reflects a high level of satisfaction, thus validating the strategy of personalized and high-quality DAY BOATs promoted by the brand. By opening up to new horizons, Beacher demonstrates that its artisanal and eco-responsible model can appeal far beyond its home territory.

A vision oriented towards the future

Beacher is much more than just a shipyard: it is a brand that combines artisanal know-how, innovation, and environmental commitment. True to its roots in the Arcachon Basin, the company evolves without renouncing its DNA, focusing on local production and a customer-centered approach. In 2024, it reaffirms its ambitions and proves that it is possible to reconcile excellence, proximity, and sustainable development. Its influence, far beyond the Basin, testifies to a success built on strong values and a future-oriented vision.
