French vineyards to absolutely discover

As the wine country par excellence, France can be proud of producing the most prestigious appellations in the world. Here, vineyards have been part of the landscape for centuries and contribute to the country's nobility. Burgundy, Bordeaux, Provence, Rhône Valley, Alsace, Champagne, Languedoc... Discover the charm of France's most beautiful vineyards!

Château Margaux

Château Margaux is one of the most famous vineyards in the world. While its reputation primarily comes from the quality of its wine, its splendid estate also adds to its prestige. Built between 1810 and 1815 by Louis Combes, the château of the property, in Neo-Palladian style, is classified as a historical monument. The magnificent vineyard represents about 100 hectares of the estate.

Château de Santenay

The Santenay estate is one of the largest in Burgundy, with 98 hectares of vineyards mainly cultivating the two traditional Burgundian grape varieties (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir). Located 25 kilometers from Beaune, it houses a manor house with a typical glazed tile roof of the region. This magnificent castle, also known as Château Philippe le Hardi, was built in the 9th century.

Château de la Chaize

Located in the Beaujolais Mountains, Château de la Chaize is the largest vineyard in the region (250 hectares, including 99 dedicated to vineyards). Classified as a historical monument, it has magnificent gardens, whose creation was entrusted to André Le Notre, the royal gardener at the time. A must-visit estate if you are in the region.

Château de Bagnols

Château de Bagnols is considered by specialists as one of the most beautiful 5-star castles in France. Former fortress from the 13th century, it now has a renowned vineyard throughout the country. Its period architecture and characteristic elements (moat, golden stones, surrounding towers) give it a unique charm in the heart of the Beaujolais vineyard.

Château du Tertre

This magnificent castle overlooks a 52-hectare vineyard showcasing Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties. Built in the 18th century, the building combines charm and elegance, and its thousand-year-old estate offers superb gardens and a peaceful and relaxing setting. An estate to absolutely discover during a stay in Gironde.
